Myrna Litt’s 10/17-10/18/09 Disneyland Resort and CHOC Walk Photo Report
After coming back from the Disneyland Resort on Friday, Myrna Litt returned Saturday morning to spend the weekend there so she could participate in the CHOC Walk in the Park today. Here’s her photo report from the CHOC Walk, as well as other happenings around the Disneyland Resort:
An old-fashioned Disney Vacation Club car stationed outside the entrance to the Grand Californian Hotel
Myrna took a look around the new store in Downtown Disney, RIDEMAKERZ
This store has the same concept as the nearby Build-a-Bear Workshop, but substitute bears with model cars. You pick the body you want and add all the accessories (at an extra charge)
Could you classify that as a Hidden Mickey? 😉
This store takes over the space vacated by Department 56 earlier this year
Chip Foose of the TV show Overhaul’in is currently working on Cars Land for DCA
Moving into Disneyland Park. Jafar doing meet ‘n greets by It’s a Small World
Cruela de Vil was there too
A few pictures of Big Thunder Ranch Halloween Roundup
Something you don’t usually expect to see during a showing of Billy Hill and the Hillbillies is a real proposal!
Of course this was a great opportunity for the Billies to create some magic, in their own special way
And now on to this morning, and the beginning of the CHOC Walk in the Park
The walkers parked at Mickey and Friends and then walked the tram route to Disneyland and Main Street USA
Mickey and Minnie pumping up the walkers at the start line
CHOC Walk Ambassadors
New Disneyland Resort President George Kalogridis at what was likely his first event as President of the Resort
And with the customary blast of confetti, the walk began!
The list of sponsors
Along the route were a great deal of characters and performers cheering the walkers on. Fauna, Flora, and Merryweather were on Sleeping Beauty Castle
A rare sight at Disneyland!
The first known appearance of Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen from “The Princess and the Frog” at Disneyland. They’ll be appearing daily in Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee beginning November 6th, 2009
Continuing along the route through Big Thunder Trail into Fantasyland
Some of the Princesses were riding King Arthur’s Carousel
Some performers from “Celebrate! A Street Party” were out on a few of the floats cheering the walkers on
Mary Poppins and Bert
Stitch in Tomorrowland
People starting the walk as Myrna heads backstage
Pluto at the starting line
Even the Disneyland Fire Department were there to cheer walkers on
Back inside Disneyland briefly
The route then took you across the Esplanade and into Disney’s California Adventure
Chip and Dale
The route weaved around Hollywood Pictures Backlot
Sully…
… and Boo were outside the entrance to Monsters Inc.- Mike and Sully to the Rescue
The walkers went backstage by Tower of Terror
And then back into the park at A Bug’s Land
Flik and Atta
The route then took the walkers up the Performance Corridor and into Paradise Pier
“High School Musical 3: Right Here! Right Now!” performers were there to cheer on the walkers
Myrna, as a true reporter, took the opportunity to take some World of Color construction pictures
Still no real signs of water in the lagoon
Walkers circled Paradise Pier
Woody, Buzz, and Jessie outside Toy Story Midway Mania
If only they were closed permanently…
The second Jumpin’ Jellyfish tower is getting a re-paint now
A Green Army Man outside the Golden Zephyr
It must have been a tight squeeze here
The Miner 49’ers performing
No water in Grizzly River Run
The walk is almost at an end when walkers go out of DCA into Downtown Disney
Cheerleaders doing what they do best… cheering
Who wasn’t cheering? 🙂
And we’re at the finish line!
The two Disneyland Resort Ambassadors, Quinn Shurian and Danielle DuBois, are on the right podium
There were gospel performers outside the House of Blues
Even waiters from Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen got into the spirit
Thanks for the report Myrna, and congratulations for completing the CHOC Walk!
